  • Carolyn and Emeka's wedding

Carolyn and Emeka's wedding!  What a warm mix of cultures and we loved getting to know some of Emeka's family at the rehersal dinner last night.  What an amazing sign of the hand of God in the grace of Him bringing these two people together from two different continents. # 5 wedding of significance since April and the end of the weddings in our lives for 2008. (At least I think so).

Tulsa and Tiffany & Ben's wedding...

Just got back from our 4th wedding of the year, Tiffany and Ben's in Tulsa.  Tiff is like a daughter and it was amazing to be there.  We finally got to meet her parents too and loved them.  Gary and Leesa were a delight.

The first day we didn't have much to do so we went to a museum.

Cute picture with the cake remains on their faces!

As we were having breakfast before we flew out this morning we were just saying that we didn't get to have much time with Ben.  Just about that time the phone rang and it was Tiff.  They were at the airport as they had to turn in their car and had a couple of hours wait.  Amazingly we got  to sit down with the two of them and visit almost an hour.  Here is a parting shot as they were on their way to Florida for the honeymoon.

    This and That

Several months ago George was with some guys at the Villa and they got stuck in the small elevator with a nun and 8 guys for an hour and a half before they were finally rescued.  Today I smiled when I read this article about 26 cheerleaders getting stuck in an elevator.

Our life continues as we will be involved in going to two more weddings in the next 2 weeks.  We leave tomorrow to fly to Tulsa, OK to go to Tiffany's wedding.  It will be melancholy with Stephany not being there.  Yet we are so excited for Tiffany and Ben and to finally get to meet Tiffany's parents after knowing Tiff 7 years.  It will be fun to get acquainted with Ben too.  The crazy thing is several years ago we had a group of young people from Teen Mania stay in our house and Ben was one that came, so we've met him once.

Strangely my brother's family will be in Tulsa at the same time as us as they are taking Nathan to Oral Roberts University where he will be starting orientation on Monday.

My dog is once again at my parent's house.  I'm thinking we need to give them joint custody.

It hit me that in 3 weeks Carolyn moves overseas and her wedding is 2 weeks from Saturday.  I know we can do the releasing thing as we have survived it with Stephany, but OUCH! I'm excited to see both of these lovely ladies weddings.

    The past and the present...

In high school through college I worked retail at Foleys.  One thing was consistant, if there was a holiday we got a holiday.  We were closed on Sundays and Fourth of July we were off spending it with our family.  Today George and Carolyn and I went to La Madelines, Target, Marshalls, Aarons Frames, Jos A Banks and Lowes...I didn't see any place closed for the holiday.  I think it stinks!

July 4th is always like a war zone around here.  However tonight it is almost quiet...the only thing I can think is the price of gas is cutting into people's entertainment, but I'm happy and so is my dog who hates fireworks and thunderstorms.

Got a new digital camera and we've been messing with it.  Even figured out the timer!  (So much more to learn, but have at least learned a little).

  • Wedding #3 & Good-bye

Robert's brother Nathan married Stephany's good friend Brittani this weekend.  This is Robert's family and a cute picture of Stephany and Robert together.

It was a busy weekend with them getting ready and selling their car.  This is the send off at their church.

Stephany was circled up with her roomates and again stretched out, these are a wonderful group of women, we've fallen in love with them all.

The travelers checked 4 large suitcases, these two carry ons and backpacks for 2 years!  (I could't have done it). They are traveling now, they've had 13 hours in London and then off to the Middle East.

About Me

  • I've just celebrated the year of Jubilee (50). The things I love are: prayer, studying the word, reading, BOOKS, color, design shows, hospitality, serving, the prodigals, and God's love (333). Jeremiah 33:3- Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, what you do not know - do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand.
